New Faces (2015)

This is my first year in Gang Show and I've loved every minute of it, from Gang Camp to rehearsals. It's great because you get to meet so many new people and make loads of new friends who you wouldn't know if this opportunity had not been available for Scouts in my area. I also have learnt a wide variety of new skills ranging from teamwork and confidence to learning dance routines. I was really pleased that despite me being one of the new Gang members, I was handed a speaking part in the item Home by Christmas, as well as being involved in various other items. So here's a big thank you to all the producers, directors, tech team, costume and makeup artists and the Gang members for helping me to have so much fun and making me feel so welcome.

My interest in The Gang Show started when I first watched it at The King's School. I really enjoyed it and thought I'd like to give it a go.

The auditions took place last year when I went along with two of my friends. It was the ?rst time for us all. I was nervous and excited at the same time. All the people who run The Gang Show were all very friendly and put us at ease. The following weekend The Gang went away together to Tattenhall overnight. We got to know more people and had lots of fun doing the teamwork activities.

My favourite part was the pyjama /obstacle course game which we took part in, outside on the Sunday, just before we went home.

Since that weekend there have been lots of rehearsals. They are held on a Sunday but as it's got nearer to the show, you also go on a Saturday. Some of the rehearsals are long, your feet can ache with all the dancing but it is worth it as it's fun. Tuming up each week does take commitment and can get in the way of other things. With all the rehearsals though, I feel prepared for the shows. I'm looking forward to my first Gang Show, especially as my friend is in it too.

I would recommend it to other Scouts because it's been a great experience, a chance to have fun and make new friends.
