Producer's Letter (2017)

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our 61st Production of Chester Gang Show.

After Ged's departure last year we welcome Alex Davies as our new chairperson and wish her well, with what is a very difficult and demanding role, but Alex likes a challenge and is already doing a brilliant job.

Well the dust has settled after our Diamond Jubilee show last year which exceeded all expectations. Now we have to move forward with a new set of national guidelines for staged performances which we have embraced and have actually been working towards ourselves over recent years by empowering youth members to take on roles both on the production team and the technical support team. There have been many challenges this year in producing a credible show worthy of our reputation after losing quite a lot of our talented Explorer and Network members to University and the wider world! But as always the directors and choreographers have again excelled this year and the young people have again risen to the challenge, I "can't stop the feeling" that we have got another fantastic show for you it's as easy as "ABC" because that's "Who we are" You will find a good balance of some adapted "old favourites" right through to those specially written and choreographed items from our brilliant production team who are tireless in their commitment and enthusiasm which is rubbing off on newer youth members of the team, without this level of help and dedication, Chester Gang Show would not be what it is today!

I would therefore like to express my sincere thanks to the whole team supporting Gang Show 2017 and to the many other people, both within & outside Scouting, for their support and loyalty to the show, and for giving the opportunity to the Gang to continue this annual Scouting activity. I would also like to express my gratitude to our Gang Show active support members for their continued commitment and help in organising and running yet another successful fun-filled Gang Show camp.

Finally, I must thank you, our audience, for your continued support. Without you we simply would not be able to do it, and so give young people the opportunity and experience they may otherwise never get. So, sit back and let the members of Chester and District Scout Gang Show brighten your day with singing, dancing and laughter.
